On December 24, the relocation ceremony for Xiangtan Wire & Cable Co., Ltd. was held at the Jinchi Cable Factory on Yangliu Road in the Tianyi Demonstration Zone. Attendees included Tang Zhengwu, Deputy Secretary of the County Party Committee and Member of the Tianyi Demonstration Zone Party Working Committee as well as Executive Deputy Director of the Management Committee; Yang Xinrong, Member of the Tianyi Demonstration Zone Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee; and representatives from Guilin International Wire & Cable Group Co., Ltd. and Xiangtan Wire & Cable Co., Ltd., among others.
Xiangtan City Wire & Cable Co., Ltd. was established in March 1996 in Shigǔ Town, Xiangtan County, and moved into the Tianyi Demonstration Zone in 2003. It is a private enterprise specializing in the research, development, production, and sales of wires and cables.
Starting as a township enterprise in 1996 with an initial capital of 800,000 yuan and annual sales of just over 1 million yuan, the company has steadily grown over the past 19 years through relentless dedication and hard work. Today, it has become a medium-sized enterprise boasting a registered capital of 118 million yuan, total assets worth 600 million yuan, a site covering more than 250,000 square meters, and an annual production capacity of 2 billion yuan. The company now employs nearly 300 people and its products are sold across China, while also being exported to countries such as India, Venezuela, and Vietnam. It has emerged as a highly influential enterprise within the Tianyi Demonstration Zone park in Xiangtan.
The head of Xiangtan City Wire & Cable Co., Ltd. stated that the industry's technological and product upgrades are far outpaced by market demands, leading to severe overcapacity and redundant construction within the sector. This has resulted in issues such as excessive production capacity, insufficient effective supply, acute structural imbalances, low input-to-output ratios, and weak innovation capabilities. Therefore, driving industrial transformation and upgrading—centered on enhancing quality—is now critical for boosting the industry's competitiveness and enabling the sector to shift from being merely large to truly strong. With the relocation of the company’s new base successfully completed, full-scale production is set to commence in early 2016, positioning the company to seize market opportunities and establish itself as one of the top three cable industry parks in Central and South China.
At the housewarming ceremony, Tang Zhengwu, representing the Xiangtan County Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Xiangtan County People's Government, and the Xiangtan Tianyi Demonstration Zone, extended warm congratulations to Xiangtan City Wire & Cable Co., Ltd. on moving into its new headquarters. He emphasized that Xiangtan County will continue to provide steadfast support and services, creating favorable conditions for the company’s growth and development. He sincerely expressed his hope that the company will fully leverage its strengths, enhance management, optimize production and sales, and actively expand into new markets—ultimately thriving into a leading enterprise not only in Hunan Province but across the nation.
